BOOK SYNOPSIS

A fascinating book which tells the story of the 1948 Olympic Games which took place in a war-weary London during an economic crisis. Despite these problems, a 'Made-do and Mend' attitude led to the games becoming the most successful and inexpensive Olympics of the 20th Century.
